About the publication

Life changed.
The conversation should, too.

Onward Honestly is an independent publication by Robert Nichols, with essays, books, and practical resources for people navigating unwanted change.

The person behind the pages

Robert Nichols

Years ago, work his family depended on ended abruptly. Robert took day-labor jobs, donated plasma for money, and built small websites at night. The first twenty-five cents he earned online mattered because it was evidence of a path he could test.

Those experiments grew into a digital-marketing career. A childhood of frequent moves and later service in the U.S. Army also shaped his understanding of what it means to function while the ground is still moving.

Onward Honestly grew from a question he kept returning to: what remains available after something important has gone?

The writing makes room for a loss to matter, and for the next decision to be small. It does not require a neat ending.
