What kind of publication is this?

The journal explores life after unwanted change: work, identity, relationships, and the ordinary decisions that follow. It contains personal reflection and practical guidance. It is not a news desk or a professional advice service.

Authorship and sources

Each article identifies its author. Excerpts identify the book or manuscript they come from; publication dates appear on dated journal pieces. Selected excerpts from The Layoff You Didn’t Choose are labelled as manuscript material.

Books and resources

Books are clearly identified as books, and free resources link directly to their PDF files. A newsletter subscription is optional. Reading an article or downloading a resource does not subscribe you.

Editorial images

Editorial images illustrate the subject; they do not document the author’s life or the events described. Captions identify photographs sourced from Unsplash and images generated with ChatGPT. Generated images do not portray the author, an interviewee or a real reported event. Author and book artwork come from the Onward Honestly brand collection.
